Piano on a St Kilda bus. Violin in a vampire pit. Strings on other people’s records.
Robin Romesh Casinader is an Australian composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. The 2008 pages on this domain called him Canberra-based. The work itself runs through Melbourne rooms: Plays With Marionettes and The Wreckery with Hugo Race; five Wreckery albums and east-coast tours; piano in Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes after a conversation on a St Kilda bus in 1990. The Coral Snakes’ gold album The Soft ’n’ Sexy Sound carries his song “Salty Girls” and string charts that listeners still call Casinaderian. Solo records: All This Will Be Yours (1991) with Chris Wilson singing, Useful Tunes (July 2005) with Pearly Black. Hood and The Vanishing Lady sit beside the session list — Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Midnight Oil, Mick Harvey, Rowland S. Howard, Kim Salmon. In 2000 he coached Stuart Townsend’s violin and sat at a harpsichord as a vampire pianist in Queen of the Damned; IMDb lists him as writer and performer of “Invitation.” In 2003 he and Jen Anderson played violin on Moby’s Australasian dates. This desk names the dates. It does not stream the tapes.
